Matte lipstick, with its ultra-pigmented color and longwear abilities, is one beauty trend we never want to say goodbye to. It’s no surprise Suede Matte Crayon is getting so much love! NewBeauty named our chunky mineral lipstick crayon “The Best Way to Get a Matte Lip That Lasts,” and we couldn’t agree more. Follow our tips for a long-lasting matte lip.
If you have dry or dehydrated lips, matte formulas can be tricky to apply. To prep your lips to look their best, start by gently exfoliating the skin with a damp bath towel, soft toothbrush or a lip scrub like Smoothing Lip Polish.
After exfoliating, pat your lips dry and immediately moisten with a hydrating balm. Let the balm absorb into your lips while you apply your face makeup.
Sharpen Suede Matte Crayon to a point and use as a lip liner for precise placement and a clean lip line.
Fill in the lips with nourishing color packed with Mango Oil and Shea Butter for ultimate comfort. The color is creamy upon application, but once it dries, this lipstick will set to last all day long. Follow our ombré lip tutorial using sorbet and crush to get a multidimensional look.
Throughout the day, avoid rubbing your lips together to prolong wear time. If you do need to reapply after lunch, the crayon’s cap has a built-in sharpener, making this a convenient on-the-go lip color. To switch up the finish, try topping with Cream Glaze Crayon in the afternoon for a glossy look. These are a few of our favorite Suede Matte Crayon and Cream Glaze Crayon pairings:
Longwear lip color needs a powerful makeup remover. Try an oil-based cleanser like Essential Cleansing Oil. Apply the oil using dry hands to dry skin, massaging into the lips. Introduce water and continue to massage. The cleanser will turn to a milky white. Rinse off, pat dry and apply balm.
